Agrotecnio
Agrotechnology Research Center
Agrotecnio is a research center of excellence in agriculture, animal production and food technology of the ETSEA campus of the University of Lleida, training in Lleida in December 2012 as successor of the UdL-IRTA Foundation.
The center's scientific activities focus on a key area that encompasses agricultural sciences, animal sciences and food science.
Agrotecnio covers all the key elements of the food production chain in an integral way from the crops to the commercially important animals and the food for human consumption.
The mission of Agrotecnio is scientific research and to disseminate conclusions and results in society, to train the next generation of Scientists in the chain of production and processing of food and to develop internal and external collaborations with other leading institutions in the world.
IRBLleida
IRBLleida is a Research Institute of the CERCA network in which the University of Lleida and the Catalan Institute of Health participate. As a mixed organism between the University and the health system, IRBLleida is committed to advancing biomedical research as a means of improving the health of the population and facilitating optimal healthcare activity in disease situations. The interaction between the professionals of both institutions should allow synergies to facilitate this task.
CTFC
Forest Science and Technology Center of Catalonia
The CTFC, headquartered in Solsona (Lleida), was founded in 1996 as a consortium participated by the Consell Comarcal del Solsonès, the University of Lleida, the Diputació de Lleida, the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, and the Government of Catalonia. The activity of the CTFC is not restricted solely to competitive research, but the transfer of technology and knowledge and training, which represent an important volume of its activity, evaluate its results. The transfer of technology in the form of agreements with the private sector and the public administrations is complemented by the organization of seminars by the general public and agents of the sector (managers, owners, technicians, administration and scientists, etc.) at national and international level , contributing to the transfer of this knowledge and to the generation of debate.
INSPIRES
Institut Politècnic de Recerca en Energia i Sostenibilitat
INSPIRES It is a multidisciplinary research centre that pays special attention to research on better energy management, efficiency, usability, security, high performance computing, and solving optimization problems, among other issues related to the field of sustainability and technology.
This represents a joint effort of several research groups that work in different research areas, as these efforts are shared generating synergies.
Each subgroup continues its research in the areas where are competitive, with synergies to address the four INSPIRES main research areas.
INDEST
The Institute of Social and Territorial Development
The Institute of Social and Territorial Development (INDEST) was created in 2015 and is a research institute of the University of Lleida. Its mission is to drive research in the social sciences and humanities to analyze the development of living territories and societies. The best information is that this knowledge is known at the service of public and private institutions that can carry out a plan of good planning and cultural management of their work.
TECNIO is the seal granted by the Generalitat of Catalonia, through ACCIÓ, to identify where the most innovative technology is located, the developers who offer it and the facilitators who participate in the process of technology and knowledge transfer.
There are two types of entities accredited with the TECNIO seal:
- The entities that generate new technology and transfer it to the company: developers.
- The entities that facilitate access to technology, helping companies to learn about the technology generated in their scientific and technical environment: the facilitators.
The developers of the UdL accredited as TECNIO are the DBA center, the GREiA center and the A3 Leather Innovation center.
Les Càtedres Universitat-Empresa són instruments per a formalitzar i fer públics acords durables de Col·laboració d’ampli abast, en un o diversos dominis de coneixement, entre la Universitat i les empreses o Institucions. Són instrument ideals per:
- Establir línies de treball conjuntes.
- Assessorament en innovació, desenvolupament i formació.
- Acollir projectes compartits
- Coordinar grups d’investigadors per desenvolupar projectes multidisciplinaris i integradors
- Organitzar seminaris, conferències, jornades i cursos específics, que no formin part de la docència reglada de la Universitat.
- Ajudar a l’empresa o institució a cercar professionals i tecnologies adients a les seves necessitats.
The University-Company Chairs are instruments for formalizing and publishing durable Collaboration agreements of wide scope, in one or several fields of knowledge, between the University and companies or Institutions. They are ideal instruments for:
- Establish joint lines of work.
- Advice on innovation, development and training.
- Acquire shared projects
- Coordinate groups of researchers to develop multidisciplinary and integrating projects
- Organize seminars, conferences, conferences and specific courses, which are not part of the University's regulated teaching.
- Help the company or institution look for professionals and technologies that suit your needs.

Foundation of the Rural World
The Rural World Foundation (FMR) is promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Generalitat de Catalunya and was created by the Government Agreement in 2006. The FMR wants to be the critical soul that proposes changes, stimulates new debates within the Departments of the Government and makes new lines of work open so that the rural perspective is present in governmental areas and provide elements for Catalonia to be aware of the strategic value of its rural environment for the sustainable development of the country. To achieve this, the FMR performs its work in collaboration with the active agents of the rural world, that is, promoting the participation of people, entities, associations and companies present in the territory.
Barcelona Bioinformatics (BIB)
Bioinformatics Barcelona Association (BIB) is a non-profit independent association for the provision of education and training, the promotion of advanced research, the transfer of knowledge and technology, the competitiveness and innovation of the industrial sector, and the offering of greater visibility to the field of Bioinformatics.
Triptolemos Foundation
Triptolemos Foundation is born from a unitary and global vision of the food system. It collaborates in the optimization and articulation of its operation, so that it benefits the availability and quality of food, and in the confidence in a global sustainability environment.
Global Forest Biodiversity Initiative
We are an international multi-stakeholder team of foresters and forest scientists. We support cutting-edge research and policy making in forest sciences and related areas. We are dedicated to the service of global, regional, and local communities. We are a platform for international forest education and research dissemination. We are a portal to global forest inventory data and services.

CIBERONC: Center for Biomedical Research in the Network (Cancer)
The thematic area of Cancer (CIBERONC) created at the end of 2016 is made up of 50 research groups belonging to 27 consortium institutions between hospitals, universities and research centers. These multidisciplinary groups work together in six major Research Programs: colon cancer and digestive tract; breast cancer; lung cancer and respiratory tract; haematological tumors; low prevalence tumors; and molecular mechanisms of tumor progression. The creation of this area represents a great opportunity to integrate the excellent basic research that is currently being carried out in Spain in the clinical reality.

CIBERES: Network Biomedical Research Center (respiratory diseases)
CIBERES is a multidisciplinary research network whose fundamental objective is to combat respiratory diseases by promoting excellence research and its rapid and safe transfer to clinical practice.
